Advanced Dental Technology Athens

Moving Forward for Your Smile

Our standards are extremely high at Athens Dental Associates, which is why it’s so important that our office is always filled with the latest, proven technology. If there is a device that will help you save time, enjoy better results, or have a better overall experience, you can trust that we already have it!

Digital Impressions

Impressions enable us to create a model of a patient’s teeth so we can make sure a veneer, denture, crown, or other restoration will fit and look perfectly from day one. Rather than using dental putty and a few uncomfortable minutes of having a patient bite into a mold to make one, we can now just scan the mouth with a small device. This generates a highly detailed digital impression in minutes that we can instantly send to the lab, saving you time while ensuring a better outcome.

CEREC Same-Day Technology

On paper, CEREC sounds too good to be true, but our patients know firsthand that it’s not! This device makes it possible to design, fabricate, and place all-porcelain dental crowns in a single appointment that are just as attractive, customized, and durable as anything from a typical lab. Rather than waiting two weeks to get your crown, we can wrap up the procedure in a matter of hours.

Soft Tissue Laser

Laser dentistry has revolutionized the way we’re able to treat patients with gum disease. Using a precise beam of light, we can deftly remove tartar from deep below the gum line which is the source of infection. Compared to traditional methods, the laser is faster, gentler, and drastically shortens recovery time. Most patients describe not feeling a thing while in the chair!

CT Scanner

Our CT scanner is the next logical step in the evolution of dental X-rays. Instead of just showing us a few teeth up close, it uses multiple images to craft a 3D map of your entire dental anatomy. We can see both rows of teeth, your jaws, the state of the bone, and much more. This level of information can help us plan simple and complex procedures alike down to the smallest detail to maximize comfort and success.

Cavity Detection System

No one likes it when their dentist pokes their teeth searching for cavities, which is why we use a more sophisticated method. This technology uses a special light to determine the thickness of enamel, and it’s able to find even the slightest indication of thinning or decay. It allows us to be even more proactive in protecting your teeth, meaning we can often stop a cavity before it starts (and save you from having to get it fixed).

Intraoral Camera

Our intraoral camera allows our patients to finally see their smiles from our team’s perspective. Rather than just telling you what is going on in your mouth, we can give you a visual tour so YOU can express what you think needs to be changed or improved. Explaining possible treatments is much easier when we can point to an image of a patient’s teeth, and we can even show them how much better things look afterward so they can feel great about their investment.
